How To Remove places.singleplatform.com From Your Google Knowledge Panel Fast!
Last month an article in Search Engine Journal titled Is Google My Business Stealing Your Local Leads? detailed how Google was inserting links on many Google My Business profiles to a third-party website called singleplatform.com, with no good and fast solution on how to remove it. Good news, I was able to speak with a Google My Business agent today and get this fixed in a matter of minutes for a client. Here is how:
- Login to your Google My Business account and under “Info” change your primary business category to “Restaurant” (Don’t worry this will only be very temporary…like less than a minute). And save your profile.
- Refresh the page and you should now see the the places.singleplatform.com as a field you can remove in your profile. Clear the field and save your profile again. Refresh the page again.
- Now change your primary business category from “Restaurant” to whatever you had originally and save the profile. Refresh the page again. Done.
Google said it could take 24-48 hours to reflect in search results but in my client’s case the places.singleplatform.com was gone in a couple of minutes. Here is the before and after:
